I like Grave Mistake but Savages is trash.
A song about The Texas Chainsaw Massacre needs to be crazy and brutal. Not buttrock.

It is one of the weaker cuts off The Silver Scream, but tbh I like it.
Same with Freak Flag which everyone seems to hate.

Yeah because that songs sucks too, same issue too. A song about The Devil's Rejects need to be brutal too.

Grave Mistake irritates me so much, I fucking hate their 'ballad' tracks. Probably why I don't think much of this album.

I don't even mind Freak Flag or Savages as much as most do, it's just dumb that they play such weak songs when they could be playing Rocking The Boat or half a dozen other new songs that are fire.

I fuck with their ballads pretty hard, but maybe that's because I'm a sucker for cleans.

But the butt rock songs are awful.

it's just such over-the-top emo cheese I can't get into it

They're weaker for sure but I'd say average at worst

"I just want these guys to write the next Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence. But knowing today's culture, they'd get assblasted for the lyrics." [2]

that is not necessary, an all-around bad idea, and would not suit them at all. they found their niche with the horror lyrics and it's perfect for them.

plus the lyrics to Everything... sucked anyway, regardless of the blatant misogyny. even Daryl himself is embarrassed by them.

Fine, the next Satori then. I always thought the embarrassment was due to the spiteful nature of EYEWTKAS' lyrics tho

I'd rather they make the next Silver Scream.

yeah i mean I'm sure there's at least a few bands wanting to write about the themes I'd want that sound like this rather than another Wage War clone...right?

Album Rating: 3.5
the themes you want are the same tired themes most modern post-hardcore/metalcore bands do, so yeah, probably a few hundred at least.

and 90% of them who want to write music similar to this album are veteran acts probably, yeah

there's more than enough bands like this doing relationship/breakup/heartbreak themes. these guys found a niche that works for them and appeals to a lot of people and that's one of the biggest things that makes them stand out from their ilk. I hope they continue down this path instead of jumping on a bandwagon.

Yeah, I just want it mixed with this kind of metalcore instead of a hundred bands trying to rip off Blueprints or This Means War. As far as my perception goes, this sound is kinda dying.
