I had a hard time getting into her voice for sure but i think her singing absolutely gorgeous and easily career-best on this

it's definitely a bit jarring at first hearing a voice that sounds like a medieval soothsayer or something coming from a Cali chick lol

I'll jam her earlier stuff and see if I can get into her. I usually am more drawn to female vocalists that have an ethereal or haunting quality to their vocals. Joannas are very shimmering and bright.

Sunbather is perfectly rated. Its underrated on here and by many though. Its quite an absorbing listen and knowing the lyrics as he screams them and the way they're annunciated is an awesome experience to listen to. Its one of my all-time favorite albums fo sho.

But yeah.. Still not liking this. I'm pretty sure she has a song on The Strangers. Thought that was cool. I didn't know much about her music before this and visited some of her old albums and there's definitely one on there I think. I want to like her music as I do like the harp and all but the vocals are so high in the mix that they can't be overlooked.

I think if she releases an instrumental version of this I would like it. It would remind me of Zelda or something.

Well Sunbather has pretty music in the background, but I'm pretty sure if you mixed her voice in from this album over Sunbather instrumentals, I'd 1.5 it. The vocals here are inexcusable.
