Is this really that good? Been putting this one off for some unknown reason, guess I should jam.

God damn I love this band.

Every album is mint, but has its own sound. Their Demo (which got a re-released a few years ago, check it out if you haven't, it's amazing in its own right https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LbHy8Sypuc) is just fantastic dirty atmospheric death metal, The Chills is fantastic dirty proggy/occult death metal, Ecdysis is melodic death metal as it really should be, and Anareta is all of them together. I would describe Horrendous' current sound as proggy old-school melodic DM.

Man I wish more bands would take a cue from how Horrendous work melody into their death metal without sacrificing the edge. Also the production is always absolutely perfect, just the right amount of grit and dirty low end, but clear enough to let all the instrumental melodies really shine.

This isn’t as good as I remember it being. I haven’t made it to Sum of All Failures yet though.

Oh shit I didn't know Damian mastered that Ripped to Shreds album; makes perfect sense though, as the production immediately reminded me of Horrendous. The guitar tone is absolutely perfect, dirty and heavy, but clean enough for precise melodies.
