I like some deafheaven. this album is very flawed. for every good moment there's two awful or baffling decisions the band made here. I don't believe there's any reason to be personally offended that many people find baby blue to be a genuinely bad track

"starts with some 'ok' post rock then guitarist turns on his stomp box so the band can do one of those hxc high school battle of the bands band style "heavy chord on the upbeat out of nowhere dude fuck yeah" right into some uninteresting chord progression. then one of the most awful wah solos of the last 3 years comes in and then soon after they metalcore chug then the band plays that generic dissonant riff over another uninteresting chord progression then metalcore chugs again to end"

holy shit that was so funny, I mean you can just picture the whole thing and the fact that it's probably how it went down makes it even funnier

I'm not offended. I didn't write the song. I'd say it's my least favourite on the album, but I think its placement amongst the rest makes it quite enjoyable regardless.

Baby Blue is still definitely my least favorite track on the album (for one specific reason - pointless fucking sample at the end of the song), but on a conceptual album level, I think it definitely has its place as a bridge between Luna and Come Back

Agreed, although I love the sample. I think it finishes the song off in a wonderfully haunting manner.

I pretty much dislike all samples so it's no surprise, but some clip about the george whatever bridge being closed from whenever to who cares really annoys me every time it comes up

Totally! Finding enjoyment in music's venue is deeply rooted in when/where you're listening to it, imo. I pretty much only listen to this in my living room, cuz I've only got the vinyl copy.

I don't really mind it, but it is definitely the weakest thing here and is almost entirely out of place.

end of Gifts for the Earth sounds like that song at the end of Billy Madison
