The mix is terrible, the guitar riffs are lazy as hell. There's quite literally nothing about this that sticks out. It sounds third rate.

riffs are heavier, darker, and more traditional. there are some lazy chugging transition moments but it's a small moment. i'm not saying it's perfect there's a lot wrong with the record it's just everybody was so eager to hate this and if they see something wrong with it they jump on it immediately.

I think given the history of the band, this has to be regarded as a failed experiment. It sounds lost in itself, and offers absolutely no positive change for the band. The metal riffs are soooo run-of-the-mill. New Bermuda sounds like it should've been three records ago for Deafheaven.
