To my virgin-to-metal ears, there's nothing wrong with Baby Blue. I've read people complaining about how terrible the guitar solo is in it, but well, I've heard much worse. The wah-effect may not fit the genre/style (idk shit about it), but can we talk about genre for such a chimera-of-a-beast that's Deafheaven? Same for the riff towards the end of Baby Blue/1st act of Come Back: entirely stupid, but that's the point, isn't it? Works for me at least, releases tension, sends me offline, and I'm here for exactly that.
Album's pretty solid overall.

Worth checking imo. With all those crow-like vocals & sentimental interludes it’s always fun to imagine how the band may have felt like while composing, a perplexing state of mind I’d say, both amusing and meme-worth.
I have the same rating for this & Sunbather, even though the latter would have a 0.3 advantage if I had decimal powers.

Always considered them to be influenced by it, and always got those vibes during all the times that I think they're bad lol.
