"Lana Del Rey is almost the anti pop star - she isn’t trying to pretend she’s squeaky clean and her songs are dark"
hahahahahahahahaha
"yet she is the most streamed female artist in the United States on Spotify!"

dark isn't really the word to use, more like somber or just plain sad
|

or just plain weak

It IS dark, with trendy lyrics. Its target audience is lesbians and "alt" girls. Thankfully I couldn't dedicate two shits to what Lana Del Rey represents in the music business, so I can enjoy this for its somber, moody bliss. It DOES have hooks, because I'm humming along after two listens.

how does this "cater to lesbians"

"great movie, but I don't see how this song fits it. Great movie tho!"
The instrumentals sound like it is what I mean. Yeah that movie is great. Listen to "Andrew Void" from the Under the Skin soundtrack. Reminded me of that number. That's the score that happens each time she lures in someone. That's what I thought of each time I heard the title track. Maybe I've seen that movie too many times. It's beautiful. Like this album.

Born to Die is great. Everything else I've heard from her is pretty boring.

Better than Ultraviolence but not as good as Born to Die.

can't believe there are still people who can't fathom the possibility of one's disliking being motivated by something other than trends
