beyond cosby, when you listen to a great album some songs grab your attention more immediateley than others, in the case of polaris it was hexes, survival and tourniquet that i was drawn to, but yes seven names is starting to get me too

The album is a little disappointing since it's Tesseract we're talking about. If it was another band, maybe some new band, I'm pretty sure everyone would say it's an amazing album, but I think it's safe to say that most people expected more from Tesseract, way more. Like you said, there is no risk, it just screams we're Tesseract, and we're not really trying. In my opinion this album is more about production, even though it seems vocals didn't get much attention, everything else sounds perfectly tight and clean. Good review.

To me it sounds like they've already started teaching the edges of their sound. Only thing left to do is go full 70's prog I guess

polaris is nice, i enjoy listening to it in the car, it doesn't bother me in anyway. I say success for tesseract, they made a nice album which lots more people can enjoy, there is a lot to be said for staying within the bounds of mainstream acceptability, let the wierdos enjoy extreme music
