To be fair, ‘Redskins’ was coined back in 1937. Much different times, may as well be a different universe in a social sense. So good on them for finally making the change, but it’s like, why are they taking so long to implement a new permanent name? Why do they need a two/three year interim period as the comically literal “The Football Team?” How fucking long does it take to come up with a mascot that’s of no real importance whatsoever? This should’ve been a one-hour brainstorm meeting and done. Personally I think they should’ve went with the Washington Monuments.

Well yeah, changing the name is absolutely right... just change it to SOMETHING, anything. This Football Team silliness isn't a viable name, lol.
I prefer my suggestion.
