I like your take on it - my partner is a massive RuPaul fan but I didn't quite feel up to giving the performance any kind of critique as I know zero about drag/trans culture!

I think Miley laughs when she sees people both criticizing her image and defending it. I don't think she has a big artistic statement about being yourself or anything. I think she just does stupid shit because she knows she'll piss a bunch of people off, and even better than that, she'll get some people to defend it.

Yeah I'm not judging her or anything. I never disliked her, I just don't like her. That was mostly a response to the first page of comments (and however long that continued) on the review.
