I love Sparks as I guess an idea for a song but I'm not sure it really comes together. I think the abrasive sort of bass-organ is a cool idea but doesn't really serve well as an engine for the gorgeousness the song aspires to. A tiny bit how I feel about Teen Dream contra Bloom--just doesn't quite come together as a -song- which I guess is what I care about these days (as in, songcraft? Putting together a melody, chorus, sound in which those two are embedded, etc.)

I think Beach House are exceptional at songcrafting, as you describe it robert, and ultimately that's what sets Beach House apart from other bands who have a similar sound
