Dead Letter Circus have been in trouble since This Is The Warning. Almost every song on the first album sounded like a B-side to the initial EP. Their unique sound is their biggest strength and biggest weakness because it doesn't leave them much room to move without completely abandoning that uniqueness. So yeah, they needed to do SOMETHING to prevent the from making DLC ep version 4, but maybe this isn't a step in the right direction.

I don't have the frame of reference to rate this relative to their discography, but I thought it was really good.

When every song sounds the same or having been made by them before while also being this safe I gotta rate a little harsher. Still not horrible music as I said, just nothing worth your time.

I can't really comment yet, listened to it twice and it still seems busy to my ears, I need to get the flow of the album first.



I've managed to identify Silence and the Lie We Live as real stand outs so far. I don't think I agree with the statement below;

I'm yet to discover another band that is so emotionally engaging with Melody while being so enthusiastic and loud...by all means I'd love to be pointed in the right direction though, I'm always searching for new music...but it's such an individual experience. I get linked to certain bands quite often and the drumming turns out to be so shit that I just hate them, or the vocalist seems to just put his bland vocals to the song as if it's an afterthought...But my mind is always open none the less.



I really love this band, have done for near on 10 years and I'm always hesitant and apprehensive because so many of my favourite bands have ended up disappointing me, I'm not sure about Aesthesis just yet, there are definitely parts on the album that i love but as for the whole thing and whether there are lemons just taking up time....well only time will tell.

I enjoy this, nowhere near the same quality as TITW though and I think it definitely harkens back to the sound of their EP in some ways. 4 or 5 songs make this album for me. Their least consistent for sure though.

Drummerboy nah it was a 3. Upon further listens I was just giving them the benefit of the doubt cause I love them. So had to bump down :/
