I think this album would benefit from a remaster, drums are a bit on the weak side

It actually is quite interesting production wise. It's not blatantly compressed but it's a bit on the loud side, yet somehow it manages to pull a unique sound which is very memorable

the production definitely put me off at first, i think because Obscura has some of the greatest DM production of all time and in comparison this sounded like it was recorded in a basement. but once it grew on me i've never had a problem with the sound since and i fuckin love it.

"imagine having such bad ears that you think one of the best production jobs in extreme metal is bad."

To be fair I wouldn't go as far as calling one of the best production jobs in extreme metal. From a loudness war perspective this is a bit on the loud side, yet, again, it's very memorable and unique, and it's not loud to the point of annoying.

Anyway us old farts remember how good those early 90s CDs sounded in comparison with the brickwalled mess the industry went in the 00s

I remember how my jaw dropped when listening to Dark Millennium’s Diana reads peace, such an incredible example how to properly record ambitious music.

Keep seeing this band mentioned. Are they actually that good, for a fan of 2010s metalcore and deathcore (like emo/scene shite)
