So that last song is pretty sweet, but their sound has gotten hella stale to me. I don't hate it, but it's too boring when there's so many other bands offering more technical music (that is still melodic) without the cringy ass lyrics.

I guess one just needs to be in the right mood. I'm sure when I'm stoned in my bed the lyrics can be taken a lot more seriously haha. Joel's spoken word motif has just gotten a bit stale for me

The band just has a special place in my heart and I'll never hate anything they do.

i mean, i get why some people don't like their christian hope and love lyrics, but the story telling tracks on this are anything but cringeworthy

Ya I mean, St. Peter starts off with a pretty cool story setup, but it ends with some posi inspirational chant that comes across as pretty lame, for me at least. It's all super cliche values that everyone wishes humanity would have. It's been wishful thinking that people have said a thousand times throughout history, so it's just not interesting to me. Especially when you realize none of it will happen. Probably just my sorta cynical outlook that I have tho haha

this band would be at least half-decent if they took out the spoken word but that's it

This is pretty sweet. Their last album did nothing for me but I can dig this. Should scratch my melodic hardcore itch until the new Counterparts album drops.

So this is good? I liked their first album but the second was a little out there... I should check this out soon cause I might see them at Warped.

It's more like their second than their first but truly it's a different beast entirely

Like... The first 2 songs on their second album showed so much potential from their first album with a MUCH better song structure and the singing showed tremendous improvement but I then found the album spiral into some really strange, bad and awkward terrain.

Michael's cleans often make most of the songs for me.

Much improved dynamic with him and Joel this time around, not to mention the album overall seems a lot more concise than their previous outing.

This band gets waaaaaaay too much hate around these parts. Undeservedly so.

The singles plus the last track are all I have heard so far but they were pretty fucking stellar, will check soon.

Great review as well.
