^ hey mattie the new guy, stick around and you'll get the purpose. It's a music reviewing website, bro. Criticism is essential to good art that we're passionate about.
|
| |
And by passionate, he means most users will tear out your throat if you don't like something they like or badly word a comment.

"Just look at AC/DC, they have made the same album 20 times and they still rock."
That's like saying Nickelback is an amazing band just because of the same thing.

burnley is such a bad lyricist. take a drink every time you hear one of "dark, cold, pain, lost, remember, forever, falling, gone", you're dead by track 5
so true

@CL0VER yes, we aren't always very nice to eachother over silly reasons. We were all getting along fine on this thread though, he's just mad that we're throwing criticism at BB. Very few are here to "hate" on bands or artists. The difference should be clear.

Right, believe it or not but many bands do read reviews and take criticism. They can't please everyone, but at least it gives them a good picture of who they'll dissapoint and who they'll please.

BTW just heard it and it's pretty bad. Like when people said Dear Agony was the same ol' same ol' this is way worse. I swear, some of these riffs are note-for-note copies from Phobia. I did like the ballad "Ashes of Eden" though.

i wasnt trying to claim we were attacking him, just a good warning for a new user to this site.

he's not a new user. he's one of those people who attack other people for not liking what they love and just never show up again

The Great Divide was pretty good especially the bridge, but that intro riff was way too familiar. I'll have to go back and listen to Phobia because I know I'll find the riff there.
If you're still out there Mattie, the basis of good criticism is shared values. For example, I share the value with a lot of users that playing the same sounding riff in multiple songs is boring and lazy songwriting. Who knows though? You could not care one bit and that's fine.

what's the point of trying to talk sense into him, it's not like he's going to listen, more or less understand what criticism is.

Just joined this page today. That's why there is only 1 comment. Sorry for having an opinion. I thought that was what this was all about. Maybe I have it wrong.

They're just trying to clear up why your argument has some holes to it.
Also, TMF, you need to add "breath" to that list.

Just started streaming... must say, I'm digging this album thus far. I'm enjoying some of the harder hitting tracks that are reminding me of the earlier days of Saturate... been a minute. Fav tracks so far... Failure, Ashes of Eden...

Best tracks, IMO: "Failure", "Breaking the Silence", "Ashes of Eden." Honorable mention to "The Great Divide."

if one of the best tracks on here is failure then there's no way this album warrants anything more than a 2
