I wish Florida was cold for more than one week per year.

Sounds like a place I wouldn't be able to live in.

Florida is probably one of the last places on earth I'd want to live

I am thankful that I have this album. Sometimes post-rock can be very sad and melancholic and autumnal like this album or Bark Psychosis - Hex, or the post-rock influenced songs on "Fear Is On Our Side" by I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness.
"Winter Light" is one of the saddest and most hopeless songs I ever heard. I can't listen to it very often and I can't hold back the tears. It's still one of my favourites on this album.
I wish I know more post-rock that is like Hammock. Can someone recommend me post-rock albums that have this autumnal, melancholic atmosphere?

Slowdive sound autumnal and they have a diverse range of music that shares a lot of qualities with this band, though hardly post-rock really. You might dig Mono and Jakob, they sound kinda autumnal to me and can get very melancholic, especially Jakob. Trespassers William too for more dream pop and shoegazing, not really post-rock.

Ok thanks I will try Jakob. I also will try Hammock's second album because Kenotic was my only album of them.

But I started listening to the album "Cale:Drew" by Jakob minutes ago. I hope I like it, sometimes albums need more time to unfold.

Lol I think my soul would die a little everyday if I did that. I’d do that with Glassy Blue though!

Well I listened to the Jakob album a few times but I don't feel most of the songs yet.
But I have a problem in general for few weeks already. I have trouble getting into any newly discovered band & album lately.
I have hundreds of albums I like / love for a long time, I think I will get back to listening to them for a while, my head is simply full at the moment, it's like as if I simply cannot get another new album in my head, it's very frustrating. I need a rest from discovering.

And Gridlock - Trace was the last "lucky" album, which means the last newly discovered that grew on me and it still gets better & better.
Today I tried Jakob - Cale:Drew again and it indeed feels better now, the atmosphere on it is starting to sink in and I'm beginning to finally feel most of the songs. I just needed 2 weeks rest from discovering.
I just wish Cale:Drew had a better album cover, something more fitting with the autumnal atmosphere. Sometimes a good album cover can help you connect easier with the music in it.
I don't really like this black & white one...

I created an account here just to say how much I enjoyed the review, and the comments attached to the review.
Discovered Hammock earlier this year and have been slowly working my way through the allbums, in order to savour each one.
I came to 'Kenotic' with moderate expectations and was totally blown away by the emotion the music elicits in me. 'Blankets of Night' and 'Stars in the Rearview Mirror' in particular are utterly brilliant.
Listening to this album in the bath, after a vape, is a near transcendent experience.
