Donkey Kong is insane. It is everything i loved about 'size combined with the more upbeat tendencies on this bad boy here. Also, holy shit still at Mike's vocals

Meh, the second and third single have been nothing short of being Cardiacs tribute songs. Given that their influence on Oceansize was one of the very few things i had gripes with, this really buggs me. Every time a song had obvious Cardiacs influences it ended up to be one of my least favorite songs on their albums.

I'm kind of anxious as to how much it will influence the other tracks on the upcoming record :/

Sentientia is more 'Size-like than Donkey Kong is. The guitars that are on the chorus reek of Savant and Amputee to a ridiculous amount. Donkey Kong is essentially the bridge between Demon Joke and the more out there shit that's going on with these new songs.

Hmm i see your point but the Cardiacs influence is still pretty strong and DK is by far the best song as of now imo. The new song Spider Bones is great though

I'm pleasantly surprised by this. It isn't Oceansize (although Duke Fame gave me some heavy Frames vibes), but it's indie pop done right. I can see it being an excellent summer jam.

Tbh I don't hear any indie pop in this, but otherwise agreed. It is different from Size for sure, the next record will be somewhat more familiar and more inaccessible, but more rewarding longterm
