this is a pretty ok jazz album for sure and probably a gateway for plenty of users but c'mon don't act like this is jazz aoty when you can't name 10 jazz albums made in the past decade [2]

yoo, sorry to butt in this old conversation but, of course u can google 'best jazz albums' or other jazz sites but nothing guarantees the site is good

like, there's thousands upon of sites about music but i can only trust a few of them, the others suck hard

its like the perfect genre IMO

Lots of great jazz was made this year, as well as in this past decade, really. Jazz might actually be one of the music genres I listen to the most. Also, it's probably the only genre in which the quantity of great records is tremendously higher than the quantity of mediocre or bad records. And with that being said, I listen to a lot of jazz from all eras, I listened to a lot of jazz made in 2015 and this still holds up as my favorite jazz record of this year (and probably of the last 5 years as well).

Other amazing 2015 jazz records: Snarky Puppy's "Sylva", Mark Guiliana Jazz Quartet's "Family First", Tim Berne's Snakeoil's "You've Been Watching Me", Donny McCaslin's "Fast Future" and Dave Douglas' "High Risk".

- yeah it's perfectly ok to love this album but just saying i've seen ppl who throw around "this is the best jazz album of the year" when i rarely if ever see them rep that scene, which leads me to wonder if they're credible or are just giving empty praise.

like, anyone who's only heard 4 hip hop albums this year could call TPAB "hip hop of the year" but i'll be more inclined to listen to the guy that has his ear to the ground for that sorta thing
