Cone Of Shame is my fav I think, so sinister and evil... Separation Anxiety, Black Friday, Matador and Superhero are also fantastic. Strong album.

Yeah, it's just a really good FNM album, but it will disappoint people who expected a game-changer, a musical revolution like The Real Thing, a redefinition what you can do in rock.
They should probably not look to old men (or pretend AotY never happened) for that.

No one should do that cause AotY rulez.

Half the songs on Album of the Year are terrible though - basically starting at She Loves Me Not the rest of that album is garbage.
Home Sick Home is unbelievably bad, why put filler like that on an album just to bump it to 12 songs?

Not at all... Got That Feeling and Pristina are awesome tracks. I also like She Loves Me Not and Paths Of Glory quite a lot. I even enjoy Home Sick Hmome to a certain extend, works well in the context of the album. Opinions man...

Dav - If you love the album that's cool, at the time it really seemed like the band had lost the magic touch though and it was obvious they'd split - bands don't usually record a classic and quit, when the two best songs on your current album would be the two worst if they'd been on your classic album it's time to hang up the guitars, and they did to be fair.
This is definitely better than AOTY because the songs at least have a shared atmosphere and a bit of menace. Not sure how highly I'll rate this, will live with it for a while.

Fair enough, take your time. I'm pretty sure this will be a 4 or 4.5 in the end for me. Enjoyable as f***.

I hope to one day share Davil's enthusiasm. Still waiting for this to grow. I basically have no doubt that it will - it's just not grabbing me like their older stuff.

Pitchfork and Fontana both gave it 6s for the funniest reasons

I can't name one time where I ever thought pitchfork had some valuable input on music. Far and away the most pretentious bunch of douchebags to ever write music reviews, half the time I don't even think they like music
