Soundgarden was definately one of the best bands of the 90's grunge era, in league with Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains. Their sound lives on in Cornell's voice in Audioslave. Check out Revelations. It kicks ass.

Superunknown is the best of one of the best bands of the 90's. Kim Thayil is a riff-god. Ben's bass compliments everybody. Matt's drums are butt-kick, and continues to kick butt on the drums with Pearl Jam, and this time Cornell's singing fits perfectly with the instruments, when before it would sometimes take away. Near perfect album.

a truly amazing album. Probably their best album, although Badmotorfinger is incredible as well. Superunknown is truly a masterpiece, and captured the rest of Grunge's magic that it had left before it died. It is obviously an essential and staple album of the 90's.

Brilliant album. 4th of July is so dark it's downright scary. A great mix of songs and the flow of the album is just right. There are very few albums like this one.

Nearly perfection. Half lets the album down, but I don't really care, because the rest is just SO good

Their best album by far. One of my favourite of all time.

Great review!

I should slap myself back when I didn't like this. I went through a this is awesome phase to; this is dissapointing and back to this is awesome.

I find it starts slow with the first two tracks but when Fell On Black Days comes on it just kicks your ass. The balance of the softer more sad grunge and the funner side of grunge is great.

"Head Down" & "Half" don't get nearly the amount of credit they deserve. I feel that "Head Down" is the best track on the album and that's saying a lot. Both tracks create such a great atmosphere and add a lot to the album.
