Hard truths. From my teens to my late 20s I used to think Tool was overblown and overrated af, then my 3rd eye opened (I suppose, according to TOOL fans...) and here I am, enjoying the shit out of this timeless, transcendental band.

Intelligence doesn't work as a unique, whole concept. There are many types and I would argue you need a certain degree of a certain type of intelligence to enjoy a certain type of art.
This is easily proven with shows that require fast, agile linguistic brain skills to be grasped.
I don't know if this applies to Tool's music though lol
