Yeah its half filler whatchu expect?
|
| |
And the "filler" tracks mostly fit in with the album
Lost Keys is a great intro to Rosetta
Same with intension/right in two
The only one I'd remove is the final track and at that point you can just turn the album off anyway

Tool's interludes have always been good tbh. Lipan Conjuring is one of the worst of them though.

Oh right, forgot Lipan. Yeah that one is pretty lame too

That was probably Danny, so he's the one to blame.

The first time I watched 2001 was a month after this album came out. I was on a forum discussing the lyrical content, most notably Rosetta Stoned. People kept asking who Dave was and they were all wrong (didn't know it at the time). My now EX girlfriend brought the film over and Every time Dave was mentioned I kept thinking if that song. All movie. I even told her a few times but she didn't know wtf I was talking about. Almost to the end and still no signs of floating away, then it happened. Hair stood straight up. Speechless. I went on that forum right after and explained what happened. I'm not saying that's the reason why I like this album so much, but it helped. There are also hints of the film in Intension and Right in Two. I really don't care if everyone on the planet hates this, I will never forget that and it's one of the most random and remarkable things that's ever happened to me in my life.
Not sure I understand much of this. What film? Who's Dave? What does the song have to do with it?

Couldn't disagree more. The interludes add depth, variety and unpredictability to the album, and they tie all the loose ends of the album together.

"Also this album is a great folk death core album, what's wrong with you people"
sure, it's all in jest, but i love sputnik's invented music genres, i really wanna learn how to mix and play music just to see how it would sound like

Intermission and Harry Manback are great, the other interludes on Aenima are ok, or grating like Ions. They're really the only reason it's not quite as good as Lateralus.

i mean there are some fun sound bites but they're mostly useless

"Not sure I understand much of this. What film? Who's Dave? What does the song have to do with it?"
The 2001 in his post refers to 2001: A Space Odyssey
Can't answer the rest as I haven't seen the film or read the books but it's on my lsit to get to eventually
edit: too slow

Eon Blue Apocalypse is gorgeous and totally worth it.
Intermission is also pretty great since it's basically the main riff to Jimmy
They're very hit or miss
