its on rise

i fail to see how this falls into any of the tropes that rise gets called out for

like excessive breakdowns, being awful metalcore, Abandon All Ships etc etc

risecore is such a lazy way to disregard a band

risecore isn't doesn't always have to be metalcore. After all they did have Sleeping With Sirens and From First to Last and they aren't metalcore

Great review, completely agree. Loving this album right now, it's better than Acceptance Speech, and probably on par with DBM II for me

Calling this rise core is so disingenuous [2] Regardless of what genre you are typically into, or what style of music you listen to, disregarding the musicianship obviously present in this album doesn't make sense. Not enjoying, or connecting with the music is one thing, so don't rate it and move on... It is ok to not like a band/album. Also, as of recent Rise has plenty of more than capable (see... talented) bands (i.e. Dance Gavin Dance, The Early November, Hands Like Houses, Silverstein, etc.) making the term itself even less relevant than the "risecore" bands themselves.

I mean yeah this is like one step above Risecore, it's "fast food post-hardcore" and it's fine, but lets not pretend this actual good music
