DMP its cause a front page review gets a lot of attention and they see the praise, get excited, listen to it and some don't like it. It's not what I expected, but I also reserve my ratings for albums I can make an informed fair decision on. Some people listen to the first song, don't like it and rate it a 3. its stupid but that's how she goes

Oh yeah, I understand. Haha it's just interesting to see the opposing views on this. For me the sound is right on the border of what I like and what I don't. It reminds me of Pierce the Veil + Hands Like Houses.

not necessarily AOTY material for me (savoring that for GY!BE) but yeah this is great.
Hell to Pay and The Deep End kick ass.

New GY!BE wasn't AOTY on my first listen. It was solid, but it just didn't have that sound I was waiting for until the last track. Still very good.
Back to this though, I think this band follows me on Tumblr...haha

This is sooooooooooo much better than the new Sleeping With Sirens. Actually, it's a fair bit better than anything SWS has released.
I know where you're coming from tcat, but also keep in mind that I highly rate the flow from song to son on this album. I often switch tracks around to make my own tracklist and I would barely touch this ('Restless' should be earlier, if anything). Please don't ignore the fact that some songs actually tail off slowly at the end to suit the beginning of the next song!
I don't concern myself with average ratings around here too much dmp. I know not everyone listens to albums at least 3 times. If I was to rate this on 1 listen alone, I might also have given it a 3.8-4.0. Someone like tcat at least sounds as if he will give it a chance to grow & then rate it accordingly. And if these guys follow you on Tumblr, then you musty be famous!
Despite listing 1,463 bands in the recs section, I intentionally left Pierce The Veil out. If these guys can add the more technical work of PTV, then watch out!
"I feel like this is something that Sowing would like"
Have you not yet worked out that we're one & the same? Haha. Unsure tbh, as while we do usually like the same stuff, I don't think his tastes cross over a great deal into this kind of post-hardcore.

re: GY!BE... I heard one 7 minute song... It took me 3 minutes to get through it! Then again, it's me, so no-one would be surprised at that.

I wonder how long these type of feminine singers have to practice before they get the desired polished sound out of their throats. Sounds pretty good though, just had a listen to the title track

If Pierce sounds feminine to you, I'd hate to think what you believe Kellin Quinn to sound like.

More feminine

Haha. Touche. I will say one thing; It would be interesting to hear Pierce live. Personally, I think he would be fine with his normal (clean) singing voice. It's the transitions from the screams and back that would test.

This album kicks ass. These guys are a great signing for Epitaph, too.

So ToonDude, you want me to switch logins.
I agree on both fronts Andre. You just have to decide between a 4.0 & a 4.5.

It's a vicious rumour doingt he rounds. I can't recall which one of us started it.
And please use the correct phrase: one "and" the same. I'd rather not be "IN" anyone else around here.

I get such a Jonny Craig vibe with a mix of Vic Fuentes or something in that category.
I've listened to like 5 tracks and I really like it. It seems like they don't do anything to really mix up the formula that seems to be ever so popular nowadays, but the songs are so well composed regardless. It's very catchy too. Definitely can't wait to listen to the whole thing.

Those comparisons are apt GreyShadow, but I don't get as whiney a vibe as Craig, nor do I think Pierce is as high-pitched as either of the 2 you name.
While the formual still doesn't get shaken up, most of the diversity is on the album tracks on the latter half of the LP, which i presume you may not have listened to.
Well-composed and catchy are 2 apt descriptions.
