there are levels of genericness tbh so when people say a band is generic there usually needs to be some clarification
i find this band generic but i cant really explain why, im going to give this a proper listen tomorrow for the first time

bands that come to mind for me would be Capture The Crown, Make Me Famous, The Bunny The bear, maybe Feed Her To The Sharks, various forms of generic takes on metalcore but this band is just so ahead of them. They don't really do anything that points to what I imagine as "genericore". There isn't an overbundance of breakdowns or sappy boy band clean choruses for one.
