Sonic Highways was pretty damn good if you ask me

The title track sounds like Pink Floyd, which automatically makes it great. I know it isn't a very exciting track but you can't deny it has a very nice atmosphere.

This is really like any Modest Mouse album to me from the last 10 years. About 2 great songs, 3 good songs, and the rest are average/forgettable (with maybe 1-2 cringe-worthy).

They've always been a 3.5 band to me. The Moon & Antarctica was my main exception, that shit is amazing.

I didn't love Moon & Antarctica as much as everyone else but there were some really great songs off of it.

The Stars are Projectors is a top 3 MM song
And every song on the album would be a 3.5+, which is so rare
|
| |
The best starting place for MM is probably Good News or Lonesome Crowded West, try those Mall.

Most people I know got into them with Good News for People Who Love Bad News
But their best album is The Moon & Antarctica if you want to start there

That was an old rating, didn't reflect my current tastes at all. I've been gradually updating a lot of ratings but it's a long process so I just tend to update them as I happen to click on them to discuss.
