This was an awesome review man, pos'd. I almost wanna listen to this after reading this, but I have a sneaky feeling I still won't enjoy it.

That (and Trebor.'s comment) exemplifies my point though. There was a time when these albums were loved by the majority of people, and they still are, but now they have this hipster-ish love/hatred that comes with any critically lauded album as they age, and I feel grateful to hear Kendrick before it reaches that same status.

(Also, personal opinion time, shut up, Is This It is life)

@iamamanfromspace Maybe not to most people, but it certainly is the most far-reaching, and therefore the most important.

Personally, it's my favorite release anyway, but the latter-day AnCo output is so close together, they almost tie (which is one of the reasons they are my favorite band at this point).

People want the satisfaction of predicting this was a classic on the day it dropped so they can tell their kids someday that they were the first to confirm Kendrick's supremacy in the rap world with this release.

Good review, but you kind of disregarded the theme of self-hatred and learning how to forgive yourself.
