I don't think you understood what The Blacker the Berry was about. He's pointing out the glaring hypocrisy in black communities how they preach black empowerment and anti-white hate then proceed to kill each other in record numbers

The song Mama's beat sounds like it was ripped straight from Los Angeles era Flying Lotus.

hard. Completely missed the point of what he was saying.

Yeah I feel that man, I used to do the same thing a lot. Casual language certainly has a place, it's just the broken sentence structure that can be a problem for readers. Even though you were confident in the review, I'm glad you were receptive to the feedback. You shouldn't be embarassed about it either, everybody makes small mistakes sometimes and your actual content is killer, just a little cleaning and the review will be mint.

I'm crashing now, but if you have any particular questions about the feedback, feel free to ask and I'll respond asap in the morning.

Really though? The song hit me pretty hard.

Not gonna say anything too big on this album for now, I really need to listen to this for A LITTLE LONGER THAN HALF A DAY TO APPRECIATE AN ALBUM.

"u" second half is pretty terrible. I'm not a really big fan of "Hood Politics" and the whole boo boo hook. But then again this definitely a very good album..

I kinda discard these early reviews. I think a lot of hype gives people a rating bias going in and they're only looking to confirm and albums greatness on their first listen, not give it an unbiased honest listen. I'm sure it's a great record but 5 off the bat hours after release?

It's pretty dumb.

I still think "u" is pretty good. Maybe I can relate to it a bit too much, but I think it captures these kinds of feelings pretty good.

@HalfManHalfAmazing: That was evident in the track I agree, that's why he kept saying how "he was the biggest hypocrite of 2015" and re-iterating "hypocrite!" in all of his verses in that song. I did also understand that Lamar was also talking about African-Americans and the hate they endure from non-blacks, and Kendrick was trying to essentially fire back at those who are heavily criticizing.

Fuck Death Grips and Kanye (I still love them but still), this is the modern day Dark Side of the Moon, the zeitgeist is perfect.

@Funeralopolis Flylo's already addressed this; a lot of the beats on here were originally from Flylo himself. When Kendrick was on the Yeezus tour with Kanye, Flylo gave Kendrick a bunch of beats for this album.
