"yeah this is pretty much the only worthwhile album by these guys"

I'd seriously suggest revisiting Weekend In the City. Album came off pretty poorly when I first heard it but now I like it as much as this. It's just not as instantly enjoyable. Tracks like Uniform, On, Kreuzberg, and Sunday have a solid emotional punch to them, and the rest of the album connects those tracks into a pretty awesome narrative.

Weekend is hardly a failure, last four tracks easily match anything on this

Weekend is clearly an attempt to make a 'big statement - these are the times we are living in' album but it overshoots with some embarrassing lyrics and musical low points. Once you get over the fact it's nowhere near as consistent as Silent Alarm then it's an enjoyable if sporadically goofy listen

I've got it 3'd which seems about right to me, second best Bloc Party

I never really got into Intimacy, has a few good tunes that's about it.

Silent Alarm just has their top five or six songs all in one place and for me it's way above their sibsequent releases

weekend in the city

then if your still interested check initmacy and maybe 4 but this truly is one of those bands thats tailed off over time in most peoples eyes

weekend in the city has some great tracks tho. id reccomend looking up flux, hunting for witches and the prayer to get a feeling for the album.

Nothing after this was as good as this, but everything else is still well worth hearing.
