off first listen i still like True Traitor True Whore better than this (yeah me and no one else ever) but this is tight. Gardens of Coprolite is my favourite.

True Traitor isnt exactly that bad to begin with but saying that its better than this is something you are indeed alone on. Still both albums are great in their own ways

i didnt say it was better than this i said that i like it better than this

in other words im admitting that im very aware that my tastes in 'black metal' isn't very standard and i have no problem seeing how other people like this better.

i mean i thought Kentucky was way better than Roads to the North

Glad you like it, potsy. I think my favorite is the title track. It has that slow doomy build then just lets it all out with a three minute wail at the end.

Gandalf comes to mind for some reason when he does some of that gruff moaning here.

I quite loudly laughed when I first heard that. No favourites for me so far, but this is outrageously good. Even the intro track is brilliant.

The first few tracks put me off at first on this release since I'm not used to a death metallish type sound from Wrest and I thought maybe the whole album would be in that style, but after multiple listens I've grown to really enjoy those songs also. And the 2nd half is definitely way more typical Wrest than the 1st half. Beast of a release overall. Still probably prefer Tentacles of Whorror a bit more and his older style but this is still a 5 in my eyes.

Just for the record, True Traitor True Whore doesn't suck in any way.

Anyways, this slays too. Def the most varied/experimental Leviathan album though.

I don't think he'll ever top Massive Conspiracy but this is on the same level as all the others for sure.
