I think some people get doom and stoner metal confused sometimes but it's not a big deal I guess
|
| |
Album Rating: 4.5
true, but it's somewhat easy to confuse those two genres
I think this album can be most accuratly described as Stoner/Doom, if that makes sense

| |
Album Rating: 4.5
it's really not that hard to differentiate, if it is then you don't know much about doom be honest

Lyrically if it's misanthropic and angry: it's doom (though it doesn't always have to be). Stoner uses less distortion than doom usually.

Album Rating: 4.5
naah doom usually is just darker and more depressing/depressed than stoner.
ill will allow sludge, post and gothic recs on the votelist if they have a doomy edge to them. i want to make it as open as possible this time

Not an expert on doom so don't quote me, that's just my take on it.

Stoner bands use special effects and mostly fuzz whereas Doom bands utilize "clean" distortion. And Stoner is more uplifting.
