you need to check their first two albums and you"ll be ok, but each and every album offers a kinda different experience

Forest is a unique death/doom experimental hybrid. Most people are turned off by the vocals, but knowing your affiliation for extreme metal, I think it won't be a problem for you. I'm sure you will love the slow riffs combined with death vocals.

TEM is almost a combination of their debut (minus the harsh vocals and the pace which is a bit faster and groovier in comparison) with this album, although, it's totally on a league of its own.

SDM and CBR are their most experimental offerings up to that period. Just picture the groove of this album sprinkled with influences from various genres (from 70's metal to funk), but still maintaining the stoner, groovy traits.

With Endtyme & TLS, the band returns to the sound of their first album, but without trying to replicate that sound entirely.

The VIIth Coming is a wonderful 70's metal offering done yet again in their own unique style, embedded with musical touches from all over their career.

Musically and stylistically, The Garden of Unearthly Delights continues with the trends established in the previous record, however, the t/t is by far one of the longest, richest, most epic metal songs I've ever heard. 70's metal-influenced doomy riffs, female vocals, epic production, folky interludes, psychedelic wackiness, all mushed up into one, 30-minute, motherfucking beast of a song.

...and in that fashion and style, it is that The Guessing Game continues. It is by far the most experimental record of their career. English folk meets Jazz, meets doom metal, meets psychedelia, meets 70's prog rock, you name it. One of the best albums I've ever heard. 90 minutes of pure awesomeness. And it's crazy to think they've made this monster so late into their career, literally 2 years before the band's dissolution.

I hope you enjoy the journey, man. In short, Cathedral was quite an experimental band. Their only consistent "traits" are their groovy, mid to fast-paced riffs and the doomy tones of their instruments. Apart from that, each album offers something entirely new to the listener.

Take your time with them. Some albums need to be re-listened again and again. Don't be too fast with your judgment.

Oh come on man, don't be such a sloth lol

Truth be told though, you've covered their best material, but you should at least check Endtyme, and The Last Spire. Both of these records are on the vein of their first two, so it's "more of that world" kind of stuff. You won't have to work very hard, I promise :P
