Hailing from the bestial part of Florida where faces get gnawed to the bone by drag addicted HP Lovecraft characters is a powerhouse of a band called Caveman Cult that brings a punishing old-school level of brutality to the sunshine state. Look at it like this. Imagine a dark, occult sorcerer with big ears named Mickey squatting around in a dingy catholic church sweating out the fragrances of Finnish, Canadian, Floridian and Swedish metal into an ominously burning death cauldron all the while spoonfuls of Satan, death, riffs, perversion, Satan, blasphemy, atmosphere, misanthropy and Satan are generously being poured in to complete the insidiously sexy brew named Sithis.
Lying before me.....staring at me........and harkening back to the glory days of vintage Blasphemy, Archgoat and Dismember is a grim onslaught of pure ***ing metal called Rituals of Savagery. I can safely assure you that it lives up to it's name because for fifteen minutes and fifty four seconds you are getting your body beaten, racked, broken, crocodile sheared, pear of anguished and maimed by a flurry of fiendish riffs, gruff daemon vokills and a blasting rhythm section all while the murky as *** blood pudding atmosphere slips straight into your pores and beats your soul to death with a golden dildo. Five tracks and fifteen minutes of furious old fashioned blackened death metal in the vein of the gods that varies the tempos when necessary but otherwise remains barebones as ***. Catchy grooves, audible production and serviceable songwriting give the recording a sense of focus and direction. Rituals of Savagery in short is barbaric, articulate aggression for the modern day viking. If you love the bands that I mentioned then check these guys out. This is some trve as ***, balls-to-the-wall war metal full of sacrilege, hate and Satan filled riffs.
