Interesting concept, but this just sounds like generic death metal to me - I'd rather listen to 1914

1914 is cool but this band is way, way better.
Marduk never gets the credit they deserve. Whole discog rips.

So true. This band gets way too much hate

Their whole discog is. Band is so under appreciated.

I don't get why they're rated so low here tbh. This is some ass-kicking norsecore.

Yeah never understood it myself. These guys have always ripped.
Feel the same about Dark Funeral.

Dark Funeral were always kind of over-hated. They were being help up as one of the prime examples of "generic Swedish black metal" from the beginning. Probably because they were less musically exciting than Dissection, Necrophobic, Sacramentum, Dawn, Vinterland and early Marduk and because they were seen as a fairly "accessible" black metal band. Personally, I think they're ok. Nothing I'd go out of my way to jam a lot, but nothing bad either. I still really like the cover art of their first record.

I love them. They’re so damn intense. I’ve always put them and Marduk in the same boat of Swedish bm that has never gotten enough love.
Would love to see both bands live.

Last year I've seen Marduk live twice. It all depends on how much the crowd is into it. The first time it was at a club right at the Dutch-Belgian border and the club was filled with Dutch trailer park biker types and local Italians (including one of the local tattoo artists). It was rather wild.
The second time was at a fest and most crowds at fests suck these days so while the band's playing was alright, the crowd reaction was disappointing.
