butthurt implies I care at all about Title Fight
I just think it's stupid that whenever a band adds another sub genre to their sound they get lauded as branching out or maturing or developing or whatever regardless of how good the actual music is

so you don't like it because of other people's reaction to it

I have always liked what I have heard from these guys but couldn't really get into this. After my first listen I can't really recall any standout tracks.
|

clicked with me pretty instantly but i knew i would like it from the singles
they're really good live and will probably get a bigger crowd reaction than the hotelier. we played a show with them (hotelier) a few months ago and no one knew any of their songs. it was very upsetting. title fight gets old if you watch them for more than 40 minutes but overall they're one of my favorite bands to see
|
| |
from more recent videos i've seen online like the FEST video, people seem to know Hotelier songs but maybe it was just that crowd. it sucks when a band like them puts out something so abruptly amazing but the buzz hasn't built/doesn't build into an enthusiastic audience. even an amazing record like Home, Like NoPlace might still not be enough to get people to listen to it just because of its level of obscurity, and Hotelier tours with people like La Dispute and The World is a Beautiful Place... and Laura Stevenson whose audiences probably don't care about them. anyway, i saw the same shit with PUP last week and it was kinda heartbreaking; nobody gave a fuck and the band got kinda pissed off.

treb: Really enjoyed reading this review, I really get where you're coming from - although I'd rate it
higher, because it's not really bad, it sounds pretty. But yeah...
dimsim: Really thought that PUP were getting kinda big. A shame...
As of Hotelier, they're playing Groezrock in Europe. Hoping they'll get the attention they deserve. We
have a small, dedicated fanbase in Denmark
