Amazing album but definitely a grower, new fans would be better starting with anything between Debut and Homogenic, Post was my first

my rym friends seem to agree with me

yeah the only kind of friends you have im sure

anyways you guys really need to stop pretending bjork is the fertility goddess of music, her schtick has been getting progressively older and older and less exciting for nearly a decade and a half. This is a lowpoint of her career.

this is probably the most tiresome album of the year so far. bjork is just completely out of ideas.

also i remember a time when bjork actually almost kind of paid attention to her music when she sang. now its basically gotten so trivial for her she just makes some lyrics, sings it in her typical overly dramatic and cinematic fashion with complete disregard to how it may or may not match the song, and just tacks it on there. honestly she could have pretty much sat in a room and recorded the vocals for half this album without even hearing it.

idk man, i mean i can't get on board with anything you two said. you say this sounds overly dramatic, i say it's soul-baring. this sounds very much like a bjork album to me. it's cold and visceral like vespertine, but has elements of her other albums too. it's like a marriage of her best stuff

perhaps, but i'd certainly call this a grower. i wasn't sold at first either - in fact, i remember not being all that in love with black lake, the song everyone seemed to be drawn to. surely you enjoy some songs on it though. i think history of touches is one of the best things she's ever done.

i don't often sit down and examine bjork's lyrics to be honest, although i did for biophilia, which i agree is the better album overall

I think it is strange that you guys call this album boring or samey throughout. For me the first listen gave each song a different personality in a story, and I was able to remember the name of each song when coming back for another listen. This was something I couldn't do with the last three bjork releases.
