For an album though, its pretty inventive and original to do something like this with the artwork. The cover might not be the best, but the booklet art through the glasses is great

Just bought & listened to this whole way through first time, needs time to grow, BUT I do agree at the moment with people who say it sounds like Lateralus II and many of the guitar riffs do sound recycled. Also I was disappointed that, considering they said this was their heaviest that it wasnt really that heavy. However, I feel Tool have generally been going in this direction since Aenima, becoming less hard rock and more progressive with each album. On first impression, I think this a little more "far out" than Lateralus.



My favourite song is Right in Two at the moment and, yes, the artwork is fantastic, even if it is similar to the past two albums.

By the way does the album have a parental advisory label?

I was gonna burn a copy for my friend to try to get him into Tool, but hes one of those good kids and he probably wont let me give it to him with a parental thing...

I only have Undertow by these guys at present. I like what I hear when I hear Vicarious, so I'll probably get this too.

I'm going to have to say Aenima had the coolest album art ever (especially with that weird effect that made the album art "move").

I had heard of this band but im definately gonna check em out now.

yeah I really don't like the album out for this album. It looks like something you would see at the top of a totem pole

Vicarious is the only song I've heard yet. I avoided the leak because I didn't feel like being a pirate due to respect for the band. Vicarious is EASILY the best song on the radio as of now. Its a 100% solid track. I'm heavily anticipating 10,000 days and I'm probably going to pick it up tomorow upon its American release (5-2-06). If it is a "Lateralus II" album, like Damrod said, I will just as happy. Lateralus was the best album I've ever heard.

I don't have this album yet, but people shouldn't rate it so soon. Maybe if you give it a few more you might find that you actually like it, or hate it.

For those who didn't like the album, I'm fine with that, not everybody has the same opinion. Honestly, is Lateralus pt. 2 so bad? I got a pre-released version (in the US), so i've been killing this thing the past week or so. I love it. It has more building up to huge releases than Lateralus does. I'd have to say that "The Package" by APC would fit in here nicely also.
