That guitar tone forever!

Hugely fun album to listen to. The second half of Beyond Cremation is probably one of my favourite bits of music released this year.

The opening scream from that track, as well. Definitely an album highlight.

Absolutely. That said, there's not a track on here that doesn't have at least one truly awesome riff.

It might sound homogenous at times, but, if anything, you can lose yourself among all them nice riffs.

This album rules! I just got the 180 gram black vinyl from Peaceville Records from 2014 because it was on the Heavy Metal vinyl sale rack at the record shop I frequent and it was brand new for only $15.99. I still had yet to buy my first Bloodbath album but I’ve heard several of the band’s songs over the past couple years and was really impressed with their old school Swedish Death Metal sound like early Entombed, Dismember and Grave, I’ve always been a big fan of that thick drum/chainsaw guitar/growled vocals sound which is why I love my vinyls of the first 3 Entombed albums and “You’ll Never See...” by Grave. But back to this album (“GMF”) I’m really impressed with this record and the sound of this vinyl is spectacular and gives the drums and guitars even more weight and everything has a really well balanced clarity. The performances are awesome and I don’t know why people are dissing on the songwriting saying that the songs aren’t memorable and don’t stand out from one another, I disagree and in fact I think the opposite that there is plenty of variety throughout the album’s tracks switching from slow doom to frenetic early Entombed style punkish Death Metal to super heavy crushing old school Death Metal with plenty of dark atmosphere which gives it a very unique sound. I also disagree with the viewpoint of Nick’s vocals, I think his old school DM vocals are awesome and they give plenty of character and dark tone to the overall feel of the record. I think Nick did a fantastic job and would definitely say he earned a spot as one of the highly influential and important vocalists in the Bloodbath legacy. I’d rank him second in terms of best Bloodbath vocalists right after Mikael Akerfeldt and before Peter Tagtgren but I love all 3 of those guys and the unique work they did fronting one of the coolest Death Metal bands of the past decade. Great album and a great way to end the Bloodbath legacy.

Thoughts? I wasn't wildly impressed, pretty straight forward. Not saying these dudes have ever reinvented the wheel obviously, but I found Resurrection Through Carnage to be a lot more charming than most of their other stuff.
