^Just had to youtube that, and wow indeed! One of the most passionate live performances I've seen from any band, let alone Blur. Need to revisit this album soon, especially since I'm seeing them live in a few weeks (woop woop!)

That makes me want to revisit this even more! Surely it's not that bad? I remember enjoying a handful of songs on here at least. He Thought of Cars was definitely up there!

Ooo! Cheers for sharing Zak! Still need to watch this one.

Just gave this another listen too, still sits at a 3 for me. Definitely a mixed bag though that's for sure, Fade Away is one of the worst Blur songs I've ever heard. But if I'm honest... The Universal, Mr Robinson's Quango and He Thought of Cars is also one of my favourite trio's of Blur songs too. Saves the album for me.

love love this band but i am deeply bored and unimpressed by this except the universal which rules, and he thought of cars is solid

Mmmm yeah dropping to a 3, I'll stick up for Charmless Man as a good-annoying macca rip but a lot of this is p insubstantial

pretty good album if you just massively rework the tracklist and lose like a third of the songs for some b-sides. pretty pretty good

The storytelling on most tracks here is great. I love the contrast between the songs' vibe and the lyrics. Stereotypes has become a favorite lately. Had they kept it at 10 songs or so, it would have been even better. And yeah, some of the b-sides on singles are stronger than some album cuts.
