I have not. Where should I begin?
Well, I ask if you've heard about Blue Swan NOT because I think you should adhere just to the bands it offers, but because there's a verifiable community of bands that function around it. Blue Swan has great groups like Hail The Sun and Stolas, sure, but then on the periphery there are related groups like Dance Gavin Dance and A Lot Like Birds. If you like those guys as well as more melodic post-hardcore like Tides of Man and Circa then this'll be right up your alley.
Personally very excited to see these guys get some well deserved recognition.
Word!
And glad to hear you enjoy the album so much, Nomos, tho I can't say I'm surprised.
What are some of your favorite songs on this, guys?

Hah! We meet again. I think every time you review an album, I end up loving it. Definitely anything in the Tides/Circa/Icarus realm of vocals/melody is something I'll fall in love with.
I listened to random songs back and forth, and I was pretty stoned, but Hiraeth, Losing Wings, Solunar, and Counterpoise were really standing out!

This record is pretty dope, yo.

Not a massive fan of the cleans, but they might grow on me.

This band is fucking incredible. Their live show is just nuts.

Like just saw them last month with Hail The Sun, Icarus The Owl, and The Venetia Fair, that entire show was just nuts.

Glad you guys are enjoying this so much (and that it's BNM now!!) My former band opened for these guys awhile back, and I got to talk to them some- they were the absolute sweetest dudes. I'm glad this album is getting the word out about Stolas, because they're doing this particular sound far better than many of its frontrunners.

That whole crew they got with the DGD and ALBB dudes is fucking incredibly talented and I love how they always collab with one another live. That was by far the best thing about seeing these dudes, like seeing Donovan from Hail The Sun come out and do vocals, or seeing Stolas' drummer come out and drum and sing on a Hail The Sun song.
Also their drummer is seriously so down to Earth, like he came out of the venue and just started shooting the shit with me and my buddy when we were smoking.

New Circa's not blowing my mind yet, so this is actually more enjoyable at the moment. Still listening. I actually find the rest of the album a bit dull compared to Hiraeth and Losing Wings and Counterpoise.
I think they'd be a lot stronger without the screamed vocals. When they aim for melody, they don't really miss. Some of these choruses are amazing.
Is it just me, or does the first little part of the opening track, and then I think..Somatic..? sound a lot like something '3' would make, instrumentally/production wise?

This album is great. They deserve some recognition. I reccomend seeing them live as they put on a hell of a show.

Album fucking rules. Sounds veeeery similar to A Lot Like Birds and even Mars Volta at times, but theres no
filler whatsoever.

This is really damn good but Somatic really annoys me.
|

Somatic had that effect on me at first, but I don't know man- shit grew on me a lot, for sure. Reminds me of the kinda relaxed song Circa would put out, except with more memorable melodies.

I'd probably like this a lot
|
| |
yes you would
