I like most, if not all of the bits of music that these guys make, but it doesn't feel very cohesive. The
vocalist's voice sounds awesome though, sort of like a vaguely more demented Robert Smith.
EDIT: Not Robert Smith. But it sounds familiar.

All you clowns dogging this making it sound like a heap of trash don't know what you're talking about. There is distinct continuity throughout the music, along with solid transitions and varied instrumentation. Not to say that there aren't questionable parts, though. Saying this is 'lacking in artistic integrity' makes you look flat out stupid.
I'd say this, in general, is a stronger debut than BTBAM's or Destrage's. Both try to accomplish the same skipping around genres, but lack good transitions.
The album's ambition reminds me of the Ubikyst release, but they clearly don't take themselves as seriously as that guy does.
Overall I'd say this is a 3.25, not a 4.5 or a 2.0. Lots of promise in both the experimentation and instrumentation on this album. Love the vocals, too.

They've made a huge mistake Gob.
I have only heard one song so far, but I already know this will take many more listens to digest than your standard album

Damn where did all this response come from so fast
@emester I'd recommend you give it a couple more goes, really grows like few things I've heard
@ihystory agreed with what you're saying, for me it's a 4.25, probably won't last forever at a 4.5 but somehow it's really infectious atm. See how you feel about it over time

@SpaceMan Thanks a lot bro, can't say whether you'd dig this or not, it's a bit of a love/hate thing. Well not just a bit, that's
exactly what it is... And yeah lol it's cool that they shared my review, I'd be worried if Schizoid Lloyd were more well known
than Sputnik though haha
@Riot Damn my CD hasn't arrived yet : (
@Shark I guess I'll have to try and keep up with that then! Expect another from me this month though, will be reviewing
Somali Yacht Club
Damn that atmosphere on Avalanche Riders is so good

Reminds me of Closure In Moscow's new album, in that vein as well jaja.

I like some of the individual ideas on this, but overall it fails to come up with anything substantial enough to warrant more listens. Their influences bleed through their actual music, and any innovation they bring to the table is lost amongst a sea of jumbled thoughts and things you've probably heard executed better elsewhere. They just come off as try-hards imo
