these guys are or at least, have been, pure radio rock/post-grunge. unlike most radio rock, they aren't completely awful, but radio rock, nonetheless.

Idk. I like Foo, but if this is alternative, what would you even call simply rock anymore. At one point alternative rock was the alternative to traditional sound. Now, what is it? It's just fucking everything that can be considered rock in any way. As long as it isn't punk or metal, I guess, but even a lot of those bands are lumped in.
