You criticized this album for occasionally "descending into self-parody." Yet, I think that is what makes this album so fantastic. Ween, like other bands such as They Might Be Giants, is not a band to be taken very seriously. Should you take Ween too seriously, their music will come across as childish and stupid, as you pointed out. The beauty of The Mollusk is that it only takes itself seriously when it needs to, and gives you ridiculous fun in all other parts. Good review, pos.

pretty sweet alb although it has some barely listenable bs songs like most Ween records (except maybe Quebec)
