Language of the Dead is the best song on this. It's apparently a bonus track but the version I have has it in the middle at track 9.

Great album, I don’t understand all the “meh” comments on here. Atg had 4 cds before “Slaughter...” and they all have their own unique vibe. This record takes elements from all of those, has great production, and pushes the band forward without deviating too much from their core sound. This album delivers.
At the Gates left off with “Slaughter...” and had to follow up a perfect classic record after their hiatus. While “Surgical Steel” is amazing, Carcass had already followed up “Heartwork” with a pretty subpar release before their hiatus. Imo “Swansong” is a much easier release to follow up on than “Slaughter...”, so expectations for At the Gates’ comeback record were probably set much higher right off the bat.

Weird how Metalsucks put this on their list of Best Metal Albums of the last decade yet gets no love here.
I think it's pretty damn solid.

Rosenberg said it's the best melodeath album of the last TWO decades.

I wouldn't go that far but it's good.
Same with the the last one they did. They are doing a lot better than In Flames who are basically an American Hard Rock band at this point.

This definitely doesn't compare to their other albums but it's still solid imo. At first I didn't care much for it but the songs they played from this live were awesome so I gave it another chance.
It's definitely not my first pick if I want some AtG but sometimes songs like Death and the Labyrinth get stuck in my head and I'll jam the whole thing. Their latest album is def better than this though.
