The thing with lyrics is that, even in pop music, if they are atrocious there is no getting over it. And, for me at least, the "quality" of music with lyrics inherently includes its lyrics, so even if the music is perfect, if the lyrics are only alright I can only rate it so high.

Eh. I believe good music should be able to be enjoyed universally. And with that said, that was cliche, boring, rehashed, trite 90s country dude writing a song about a big city he probably knows next to nothing about.

A juvenile, pathetic attempt at pop music. All this album has done is show what happens when an artist sells out. "Shake it off" is embarrassingly bad, with the rest of the album being mediocre or poor at best.
