Opeth should do something like this album instead of whatever the fuck they're doing now

I'd like Opether to do anything besides what they're writing now.

The dog whistles in Dead City Centres is the main reason for me.

kinda like this idea tbh

That'd be sweet, I'd love for them to experiment and release something totally unexpected like with Storm Corrosion.

lol at the idea of Opeth making something like this.

I don't understand what'd be so absurd about that. Maybe it's time they actually do make something outside of the box since their recent style hasn't been so great.

I agree with Mongi. Besides, Opeth already alienated a good chunk of their fanbase with their last two albums... why not piss them off even more and abandon rock music as a whole? It'd certainly be interesting at the very least, and Opeth have often been known to not care much about making music predominately to cater to fans, so I can see it happening one day

I remember Mikael wanting to make a primarily acoustic folk album at one point. I think it'd be cool for Opeth in general to go in a folk direction, seeing as most of their acoustic passages are either folk or blues-based

Opeth have always done melancholy so so well, most of their 'classic' DM material I find myself enjoying the melodic transitions the most.

Exactly. I especially love the ending to When because of said melancholy :] That, and the way Mikael's voice blends with the major 6ths played on the guitar during the final riff :D
