Besides the fact that the solos are guest ones, Summoning are better composers and write better riffs so your reasoning is heavily off.

I've never made it through a full summoning album. Stronghold has bored me to death every time I've tried.
Maybe I'll come around eventually.

Summoning riffs harder and they really peaked in their songwriting on Old Mornings Dawn, Caladan Brood don't even come close, if anything Caladan has a more refined sound compared to summoning
