also just saw your comment about what the vocals remind you of...
and yes Bright eyes is the first that came to my mind when listening. It's like if Menzingers and Jeff Rosenstock wrote the music and then had Connor Oberst do some extra punky vocals

yeah, I couldn't put my finger on it at first but some songs have a Conor Oberst vibe to them without a doubt
I was jamming my Fevers & Mirrors vinyl the other day and it just hit me

Patrick Stickles ranks the band's records:
https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/qv7m3p/titus-andronicus-patrick-stickles-ranks-all-of-the-bands-records
1. The Most Lamentable Tragedy
2. The Airing of Grievances
3. A Productive Cough
4. The Monitor
5. Local Business
lmao obviously. although I'll say that his grievances with The Monitor are the same reasons it grew off me too
|
| |
you dont like woah oh ohs?
anyway i guess his “resentment” is justified but we’ll all move on when he puts out another record as good as Monitor, though thats a hell of a task. i rlly like Biz and Tragedy tho so im not one of those hung up fans

the corny, college kid smartass vibe makes this album pretty embarrassing to me now
|

Pronounced: Tight arse andron's nickers
|

corny album for sure but the songwriting is unbelievable, enuf to lay all my apprehensions to rest. plus i think theres plenty of genuine moments, unburdened by context or “vibe” or whatever
