you're over simplifying it. i have grown more patient with certain things as i grow older naturally but quite the contrary for music. i used to listen to the same 5 albums for years at a time when i was younger. now that my taste has evolved and fleshed out i have no patience for music that doesnt impact me the right way. im not gonna keep listening to something that doesnt blow me away.

The instantaneous mind melters are few and far between for me I can literally count em on one hand.
With me I'll have a listen, you know that there's something special there and something draws you in. Repeated listenings unravel the thing and at somepoint it hits.
There have been times when I've thought an album was nothing more than average with nothing going for it at all. You spin it again months/years later and it instantly hits.
The best ones are albums that are fucking great from the off, months/years pass and you can't live without them and they achieve 'classic' status.
