eeh, Telephono is pretty bad tbh. But I mean, yeah they're one of the most consistently good bands out there.

Band put out this cool little thing on their website where if you make a Spotify playlist of 10 Spoon songs that "describe you" they judge your "aura": http://aura.spoontheband.com/
My aura is:
Danceability: 59%
Energy: 68%
Liveness: 20%

Heard this today and every song made me smile like a stupid boy

Spoon albums have a tendency to do that.

You could say with Spoon I don't give a fork [apologies]
I prefer the multiple Ga album, this is more a single 'gah'

The dude's voice is the most neutral vocal style for me in the entire recorded history of music - I neither enjoy it nor find it dull it just is...incredibly functional, like a keyboard preset of 'male indie rock singer #1'

You see I think Britt has something of a distinctive snarl in his vocals, they're a bit of an acquired taste but once he hooks you you're in love.

It does the job just fine

Well, you'd need a modicum of snarl to be neutral for me- otherwise they'd be weak. They're efficient but incredibly unmemorable.
This is between a 2.5-3 and Ga Ga... is between a 3-3.5.

Yup, a lot of people find The National boring and I get that, but they just hit the spot for me. Nothing wrong with this, I can see that. Three songs I enjoy enough to return to, the dreaded 'respectful 2.5'. New one I could like at least as much as Ga x 5, hopefully more.

I don't see how this is boring in any way tho

I have seen people refer to Spoon as "the whitest band ever" and similar things, there's definitely a group of people who find them very vanilla. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ I don't see it.
